Course Description

Art IV is an advanced course for students who are motivated to expand their knowledge of the visual arts. Students will complete works of art independently with individual goals agreed upon by the student and teacher. The overall goal of this class is to create a strong portfolio that showcases the students depth and breadth as an artist. This class will build from the skills and techniques from prerequisite art courses. Along with practicing technical skills, students will begin to develop a personal style. Art IV will focus on the 'studio experience.' That experience will include exposure to new techniques and exploring the motivation behind creating art.

Contests/Scholarship Opportunities

Every Art IV student will be required to submit artwork to at least 3 art contests over the duration of the school year. I will post contest information as I receive it, but it will be the student's responsibility to communicate with me about entering. Each submission will be a 50 point grade.
